As the Founder and Managing Partner of Cirius Green Development LLC and Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Cirius Partners LLC, John brings deep industry knowledge and a passion for innovation, guiding the firms’ strategic direction, project selection, and execution.

His expertise spans brokerage, private lending, fund management, and multifamily development, with a strong reputation for delivering risk-adjusted returns through disciplined capital strategy and forward-thinking urban design. John’s leadership emphasizes architectural vision, material innovation, constructability, sustainability, and enhancing the lived experience of residents.

In 2016, John launched Cirius Pacific Fund LLC, a real estate private equity fund combining hard money lending with value-add investments. Under his leadership, the fund returned 100% of investor capital and delivered consistent 10–12% annual returns, even through COVID-19.

In 2010, John co-founded Cirius Capital, a boutique construction lender focused on value-add and small-scale development. Over five years, he underwrote and funded 140+ loans with zero defaults—demonstrating rigorous analysis and disciplined execution.

In 1985 John joined Marcus & Millichap as a Senior Associate. Over the next 25 years, he established himself as a top multifamily broker, ultimately leading the Northern California multifamily divisions at both Grubb & Ellis and Coldwell Banker Commercial.

John has closed hundreds of multifamily transactions worth hundreds of millions, representing major institutional clients like AvalonBay, Equity Residential, and Goldman Sachs.

John’s multifamily expertise led to being a featured speaker at various real estate conferences, investment clubs, the California Association of Housing Authorities (CAHA), and the National Appraisal Institute.

A CCIM designee and Certified Fund Manager, John is known for precise underwriting, transparency, and market insight. His standout “21st Century Eichler” green-build project in Sunnyvale redefined modern sustainable living and set a local sales record.
